Sickle Cell is becoming a 'Sexy Chronic Disease' - $$

Just returning from a Sickle Cell conference at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD and am awl of the number of new clinical trials in the pipeline to develop new medicines to treat and cure Sickle Cell Disease.  Over the years, I witnessed having just a few medications to treat the horrible complications persons experience from the damage causes from the 'sickling' of the
blood cells such as lung damage, heart enlargement and damage, kidney damage, joint and bone damage and etc.
The FDA recently approved new Drug called, Endari  aimed to reduce sickling of the red blood cells.  Although we are waiting for access to this medication, there is real hope on the Horizon.  There are also new Point of Care testing trials to rapidly diagnose people with sickle cell and trait and even in non-invasive 'no needle' stick methods.

To find out more about these new therapies, visit a
Comprehensive Sickle Cell Treatment Center in your area.
Specialty Care Matters!
